在玉林城区南流江上，有一条桥叫云龙桥。因为该桥历史悠久，结构结实，保持完好，已成为我们玉林不可多得的名胜古迹。在福绵的南流江上，也有一条桥，叫“万济桥”。从外表看，该桥结构严谨，跨度很大，颇有气势，与云龙桥相比毫不逊色。
同样是古桥，但见桥的正中，一块碑石上书写“万济桥”三个苍劲有力的老体正楷字。而两旁的碑文正好道出了建桥的筹款方式和过去年月。正左方上写“众绅商民等仝立”，即此桥是由乡绅、商人、民众等集资建造而成的；正右方上写“道光乙已浦月吉旦”，大约意思是此桥是清道光二十三年的1 月修成（可能是重修）。碑文写得很清楚，此桥距今已有二百多年的历史。
走在桥上，有古风扑面的感觉。因为此桥年代已久，而桥上的建设风格又全是古时的风格。在桥上的石雕看到，有云头、有锦锈、有铜钱等。它们还清晰可辩，取的是整齐对称的结构。其实，本人对建筑是没有什么了解的，对一些名胜古迹还有待去重新认识。但为什么在此却写起名胜来，不怕担班门弄斧的罪名？
现在的人们已经过腻了城市生活，对户外生活的需求日增。比如登山、徒步，有爱好者还冒险探胜。到的地方多了，就苦于没有新发现，或没有地方可去。但种种迹象都表明，不管是登山好或者是探胜好，人们都重于舍近就远。或者根本不知道，在我们的周围就有不少可去的地方。现在所说的万济桥就是一例。请不要认为，近的地方是没有什么看头的，因为它们太熟悉了，根本不值一顾。但如果你能留心去细看还是有很多新发现的。比如你和相近的人交心，你就会发现他原来也有很多优点，能提高你的兴趣。有时，他们还远胜于陌生人。
